Hortons Home Lighting has been a sponsor of The H Foundation and the Goombay Bash since its beginning in 2001. It started out as a few friends and local business owners with entrepreneurial spirit who decided we could make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Cancer does not discriminate — it affects one in three people. The H Foundation and their supporters are united by the common goal to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Our Personal Inspiration:

On February 2, 2001, Pam Herts lost her battle with breast cancer. She was 31 years old and left behind a 1-year-old son who never knew his mother. In addition to being a mother, sister, and daughter, Pam was our co-worker and friend.

Since 2001, The H Foundation has raised more than $10 million, donating nearly every dollar raised to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. These funds are used as seed money for basic science cancer research projects to help them compete for additional government or private funding. Our dollars have been leveraged into over $153 million of additional funding for Lurie Cancer Center.

Hortons is determined to make a difference. Cancer is personal to each of us. We continue to honor Pam, our family, our friends, and those who join us to fight to find a cure for this terrible disease.
