Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are all right around the corner. This year, kick start the holidays with style by throwing a spooky Halloween party. Get the party rolling with these easy Halloween hosting tips.

1. Make your landscaping festive by upgrading your outdoors without too much effort! Take your already in place path lights and cover them with a white fabric square. Tie the fabric around the path light with a black string to make a spooky glowing ghost.

2. No Halloween party is complete without jack-o-lanterns. After carving out your pumpkins, whether with creepy faces or fun fall designs, grab some battery powered tea light candles, and place them on your porch to add a glow to your entryway.

3. Make your normal buffet festive by making creative signs to go with your Halloween theme. Add “zombie eyes” to your meatballs, “mummies” to your pigs in a blanket, or “brains” to your rice krispy treats.

4. Upgrade your desserts by adding black frosting to your sugar cookies. Design spiders, spider webs, and the outline of a ghost onto the fresh baked cookies for a festive flair at your Halloween party.

5. Don’t forget the costumes! Can you really say that you hosted a Halloween party if you didn’t dress up for the occasion? Our favorite DIY look this season is the glow in the dark stick man costume. Simply dress in all black and tape glow sticks along each limb, head, and torso!

Wishing you a spooky Halloween from your friends at Hortons! Remember to stop in to one of our three convenient locations for your home lighting needs.
